About the artist:
Eleanor Allitt is an English artist who originally trained as a textile
designer, and worked in various related design fields over a long
period. Over recent years her interest has turned to painting and
storytelling, and in
particular to the interpretation of ancient stories and myths.
About this work:
Inanna’s loyal attendant Ninshubur pleads with the god of fresh water
and wisdom, Enki, to rescue Inanna from the Underworld so that life on
earth could again flourish.
