About the artist:
Sina Ata was born in New York, USA and now lives and works in Amman,
Jordan. He started painting as a form of therapy after the torments of
the Iraq-Iran war into which he was drafted as a soldier. His work
explores different languages of expression, finding inspiration in
music, the written word and bare landscapes. |
About this work:
With its wall of written pages or clay tablets from which a troubled,
deep-thinking man emerges, ‘The Language Barrier’, says the artist, ‘is
a representation of the weight and responsibility we carry because of
this (Mesopotamian) inheritance.’ |
