Adapa

This story tells how a wise man named Adapa met laughing gods in heaven and found eternal wisdom but not eternal life.

Click here to read a modern short story inspired by the Sumerian story of Adapa, heard during the Zipang Day Out on 5th November 2011. The author is Ghada Gaylani (second from the right in the main photo below). To her left is Dr Fawziya al‑Maliky, Director of Heritage at the State Board of Antiquities and Heritage in Iraq, on a professional visit to the UK as a guest of the British Institute for the Study of Iraq (BISI).
