Humbaba

 
 

Humbaba was the mythical monster who guarded the cedar forest mountain for the gods. He was killed and beheaded by Gilgamesh and Enkidu when they ventured in search of timber to chop down and bring back to Uruk. His story is an important episode in The Epic of Gilgamesh.
