The Marriage of Martu

This is a romantic tale about a princess from the city who falls in love with a nomad from the wilderness. Martu the nomad visits the city in search of a wife. He catches the eye of the beautiful princess when he wins a wrestling championship. He brings gifts for the princessís family, pleasing them, and gaining the blessings of her father. Her friend points out that Martu is uncivilised, but the happy princess chooses him to be her husband.

The Marriage of Martu is also a myth which explores and explains the relationship between nomadic tribes and city people, describing their distinct life-styles and their growing interdependence as time goes by.
